Instagram has rolled out a visual refresh, bringing new energy to the app interface.
The platform unveiled the new changes on Monday, which include repurposed colors, logo, and other elements. The visual refresh is meant to “create more immersive and inclusive experiences” for users.
One transformation is the gradient being reinvented with brilliant color to signify times of discovery. Users may also notice a new style and design system aimed at promoting content that emphasizes originality and self-expression. The vibrant gradient has also gotten a 3D update to feel more “alive.”
Instagram has also switched its typeface to Instagram Sans. This will apply to the IG logo and other design elements. This typeface will be featured on marketing materials such as billboards and the website.
Users have long asked for improvements to the overall layout of the app, and Instagram has responded by implementing new marketing layouts. Full-screen imagery makes it easier for users to view content and the Meta-owned site previously made steps to put timelines back in chronological order.
The new updates have already gone into effect, with users able to enjoy them without needing an app update.
