A teen girl in Queens, New York, was doing her homework when she was struck by a bullet while in her home.
“Hey, besties, girl who got shot here! I have no comment,” read a handwritten note the 15-year-old student left for reporters after she was released from the hospital. “Come back after the Regents for a statement,” she said, referring to the tests all students in the city have to take.
The message in her note comes after the teen was shot in the right shin while doing her homework. At around 11 p.m., the teen was doing homework inside her home, located near 2015th Street in St. Albans, when a bullet shot through the front window. Prior to being shot, her father called the police to report several gunshots made outside their home, The New Post reports.
The teen was taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where she was treated and discharged. No arrests have been made, but the family’s neighbor’s home surveillance showed three suspects pull out guns and start shooting.
There are no details yet on who the suspects intended to target, The New York Post reports.
