A masked woman was seen on footage setting fire to what would be the last abortion clinic in Wyoming.
A hooded and masked white woman who is described to be around 5 feet and 7 inches tall with a medium build was seen starting a fire inside planned abortion clinic, Wellspring Health Access Clinic in Casper, Wyoming. The incident took place in the early morning of May 25.
The clinic, which was set to be the only clinic of its kind in the state, was undergoing renovations and was set to open in the middle of June. Now, construction has been pushed back about six months, CBS News reports.
After receiving a call about glass being broken, police arrived at the scene to find the suspect leaving the area carrying a gas can and a black bag, CBS News reports. The woman was reportedly in the establishment for about 15 minutes; firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly, the news outlet reports.
“Despite these setbacks, we are undeterred in our mission to give the people of Casper access to comprehensive reproductive health care, including abortion care,” said Julie Burkhart, the clinic’s founder.
