Kim and Kanye are livid that their ex-bodyguard, Steve Stanulis, is telling all of their business to the media, and they plan on hitting him where it hurts. The Wests are threatening to sue Stanulis for $30 million for breaking the confidentiality agreement he signed during his employment period and talking about the couple in interviews.
Stanulis, who is a former NYPD cop and has served as a bodyguard for other celebs like Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire, worked for the Wests during Fashion Week and then for a few days leading up to the Met Gala. After he and the couple had a falling out, he did interviews with several news outlets, including New York Daily News, and revealed all types of inside information about the Wests. During his interview with NYDN, he called Kanye “the most condescending person I’ve ever met in my life” and told them that he was fired by Kanye for flirting with Kim. Both Kim and Kanye deny his allegations and claim that it’s just a tactic for Stanulis to get fame and attention.
“The West family will no longer tolerate the spreading and selling of fake stories in a desperate, transparent and shameless attempt for publicity at their expense,” a rep tells Us Weekly in a statement. “As such, the Wests will explore all legal means at their disposal to silence this nonsense.”
Kim and Kanye, however, are willing to withdraw the lawsuit if Stanulis apologizes and agrees to stop talking to the media about them.
