Cuba Gooding Jr. will avoid jail time after pleading guilty to forcibly touching a woman in 2018.
A spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office told CNN that the actor, 54, has met the conditions of his plea agreement, avoiding jail time.
On Thursday, Gooding pled guilty to harassment, a lower level than a misdemeanor, with a deal that allowed him to avoid arrest and complete six months of counseling.
According to CNN, the criminal charges won’t appear on his record, but the harassment violation will.

“Two of the three cases were completely dismissed,” said Gooding’s lawyer Peter Toumbekis. “Gooding received a plea to the violation for the third case, which is not a crime and, therefore, does not give rise to any criminal record. I hope and trust everyone involved can move forward.”

Gooding has been receiving “positive reports for the last six months,” and he has agreed to continue going to therapy beyond the required time, according to Assistant Manhattan District Attorney Coleen Balbert.
According to CBS News, if he hadn’t cooperated with the terms, he could have received a jail term of up to a year.
