Comedian D.L. Hughley believes that Donald Trump should face criminal charges as a result of the Jan. 6 riot and death of a Capitol Police officer.
Hughley told TMZ that the consequences for inciting a riot would be different if Trump were black. In fact, according to D.L., the former president would face a slew of charges, including manslaughter, if he was a person of color.
The comedian said that the death of Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who passed away the day after being severely beaten during the insurrection, should also be blamed on Trump.
Although the Justice Department has not yet filed any charges against Trump, the Jan. 6 Committee has decided to investigate Trump for potential criminal charges.
Trump could face charges of obstruction of official proceedings, conspiracy to make false statements, conspiracy to defraud the U.S., and insurrection.
