Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin continues to make progress after suffering cardiac arrest during Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

On Wednesday, Hamlin’s father, Mario, spoke with the Bills to provide an update on their injured teammate, who he said is making progress although he remains in critical condition.

According to Mike Giardi of NFL Network, the call with the players was “emotional,” but it also brought about some “calm” for them.

Thursday morning, the Bills also shared an update to fans on Instagram, saying Hamlin “has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours.” The statement also said Hamlin appears to be “neurologically intact” and that he’s been making steady progress.

The 24-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest after tackling Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins during the “Monday Night Football” game. He was transferred to University of Cincinnati Medical Center after medical personnel administered CPR on him midfield.
