The often reclusive Janet Jackson is bringing her personal life to television screens with a new A&E docuseries.
“Janet Jackson: Family First” will pick up where Janet’s 2022 four-part documentary left off. The new limited series will follow the five-time Grammy award winner as she headlines her 2023 “Together Again” tour and navigates her busy life. Interestingly enough, the doc will also follow renewed efforts to reunite the Jackson’s family band with the help of her brother Randy. It has been 40 years since they’ve all graced the stage together, so fans of the Jackson 5 and each individual artist are in for a pleasant surprise.
Lifetime and A&E are the masterminds behind the new unscripted show. Janet herself will serve as executive producer. Ben Hirsch will take the director lead, with Randy also joining his sister on executive producer duty. Brie Miranda Bryant will also be one of the EPs on this lively project.
“I am excited to continue to share my story and welcome fans into my life and the ‘Together Again’ tour,” Ms. Jackson shared in a statement. Randy also said he was looking forward to sharing his family life with viewers.
The series is currently filming, so no release date has been announced as of yet. Also, how much of Janet’s personal life will be on display remains unknown. After giving birth in 2017 to her son Eissa Al Mana, the 56-year-old has kept him out of the spotlight as well as her former relationship with her ex-husband Wissam Al Mana.
