Days after the news broke that “Married to Medicine” star Dr. Contessa Metcalfe was exiting the franchise, her co-star Dr. Heavenly Kimes has offered more insight into her abrupt departure.

During Heavenly’s recent live stream, the dentist confirmed that Dr. Contessa was leaving the reality series, and the reason stemmed from money. Allegedly, Bravo wanted to demote the physician to a friend of the show. However, Dr. Contessa was not happy about the pay cut that came along with the downgraded title. Therefore, she was let go by the network.

The firing of Dr. Contessa comes as a shock, considering that her storyline was a substantial part of the show. In recent seasons, fans witnessed her and her husband, fellow doctor Scott Metcalfe, endure marital woes as she embarked on several new career ventures. Last year, Dr. Contessa won her first fitness competition, and the happenings in her life appeared interesting enough to keep fans watching. However, she is not the only cast member to be dismissed. Dr. Heavenly also confirmed that Bravo got rid of blogger Anila Sajja, whose husband is plastic surgeon Dr. Kiren Sajja.

Neither woman has released official statements, though Dr. Contessa shared a cryptic message on her Instagram, alluding to being the topic of conversation even in her absence.

“When you left the party and they stillllllll talking about you…damn doc…you haute,” she wrote.

As both ladies make their exits, former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks will be joining the cast alongside her new doctor boyfriend.
