Teletubbies Boots Will Spark Nostalgia At The Tune Of $2,500

Teletubbies Boots -Christian Cowan

If the Teletubbies series was a part of your childhood in the early 2000s, there is a boot made just to scratch that nostalgic itch.

London designer Christian Cowan has launched a line paying tribute to characters Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po, the four alien-adjacent colorful characters, are featured throughout the collection on various pieces such as t-shirts, custom denim, and hoodies. However, Cowan took things a bit further by adding the line’s statement piece: a pair of bright green boots with an attached Dipsy head.

The boot is comprised of a green, fuzzy texture, similar to the costumes worn by the Teletubbies. The pointed-toe, high-heel boot features a black side zipper, and Dipsy appears to be reaching out for a hug. Though slightly creepy, these boots are sure to turn heads. In an Instagram post, Cowan said he wanted to honor cultural staples that have significantly impacted the world and set his sights on the playful series, which debuted in 1998.

“When deciding what our next collaboration would be, we were throwing around lots of pop culture icons, and then it struck us, let’s do THE icons,” Cowan wrote in the IG caption.

If you have an extra $2,500 to spare, these luxury collector’s items are perfect for your closet. They are available for purchase now on Christian Cowan’s website but aren’t expected to ship until mid-April.
