Shanquella Robinson's Family Lawyer Blasts the FBI for 'Lack of Transparency' After They Declined to Share Autopsy Results

The family of Shanquella Robinson is still looking to file a civil lawsuit after the U.S. announced that it would not be charging anyone for her death.

According to TMZ, the deceased’s mother and sister, Sallamondra and Quella, are ultimately devastated and confused following the results of different investigations in both the U.S. and Mexico.

As previously reported, Shanquella passed away last fall near Cabo San Lucas, and two autopsies were conducted–one in Mexico and one in the U.S.
According to the Mexican autopsy, she had “severe spinal cord injury” and vertebral instability, which indicated trauma.Taking into account that a woman Shanquella was on vacation with can be seen beating her in a widely-distributed video, her family believes it is obvious to draw the conclusion that the attack could have contributed to her death, but apparently, U.S. investigators disagreed.

According to Shanquella’s family, the federal government performed its autopsy after embalming and shipping. They acknowledged that her brain had swelled but ultimately concluded that there was no clear cause of death.

The family’s lawyer, Sue-Ann Robinson (no relation), claims that the federal government hasn’t explained why it’s heavily relying on their autopsy instead of the timely Mexican one.

Sue-Ann claims that justice wasn’t served because, in her opinion, U.S. prosecutors took a backseat to the investigation.

She asserts that the family will continue to put pressure on government leaders, including President Biden, to act morally and compel the U.S. Attorney’s Office to take appropriate action.

The family was reportedly given the choice to have her body exhumed for a third opinion, which is still a possibility.
