City Girls rapper, JT, launches an initiative and website to offer assistance to women who experienced incarceration.

According to the website, No Bars Reform provides various resources to support women in multiple areas, such as employment, housing, therapy, substance abuse assistance, and other opportunities. A statement on the website emphasizes JT’s commitment to leveraging her voice and platform to aid incarcerated women since her prison release.

“After spending almost two years in a Florida prison before being released in 2020, JT has vowed to use her voice and platform to help other incarcerated women rehabilitate into society,” the statement reads.

Having gone through her own personal ordeal, JT spent some time behind bars for aggravated identity theft in 2018. The rapper received 24 months in federal prison and ultimately released on March 7, 2020. To commemorate her return, she released a freestyle titled “JT First Day Out” towards the end of 2019.

To coincide with the website’s unveiling, JT recently dropped her newest single titled “No Bars.” This track marks her first solo release since the previously mentioned “JT First Day Out.” The song has already achieved significant success, reaching the top position on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart. Additionally, the single even made its way into the Top 5 on the iTunes all-genre chart.
