Tori Kelly has shared a handwritten letter with her fans, updating them on her recovery progress after collapsing due to blood clots. The letter was posted following an update from her husband.
According to reports, the singer was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Cedars-Sinai Medical in Los Angeles over the weekend. She sought treatment for blood clots in both her legs and lungs following a collapse that occurred while she was having dinner at a restaurant on Sunday evening.
“I’m feeling stronger now and hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover,” the singer wrote in the letter posted on Instagram. “I’m so grateful for the amazing doctors and nurses who have been looking after me.”
Before the medical incident, Kelly was eagerly preparing to celebrate the release of her seven-track EP titled “Tori,” which was set to launch on Friday. Despite her current situation, she will unfortunately not be able to perform at the album launch show initially planned at The Roxy in Los Angeles. However, her fans can still look forward to the release of the EP itself as scheduled.
“Of course I’m heartbroken about all of the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but I know my health must come first,” Kelly continued in the letter. “Until I see you again, I still want you to enjoy a project that represents the happy place I’ve been in the last few years. I won’t let this hurdle prevent the music from being yours on Friday!”
When TMZ initially reported Kelly’s hospitalization, they described her condition as “really serious.” The report mentioned that the singer experienced a sudden increase in heart rate before losing consciousness. Medical professionals were actively investigating whether there were any blood clots near her heart as part of their diagnostic process.
