Following her death hoax, Meta has helped Lil Tay get her social media accounts back.

On Wednesday morning, a false report of Lil Tay’s death was posted on her Instagram account. The statement stated that her passing was both sudden and tragic.  The post described it as an overwhelming loss and asserting that her family was shocked by the news.

Prior to the unsettling announcement on Wednesday, an individual falsely represent Lil Tay’s family reportedly reached out to TMZ. The person included a press release, claiming that both Lil Tay and her sibling had passed away at their mother’s residence in Vancouver.

Serious concerns began circulating regarding the social media influencers’ fabricated death. However, a representative from Meta has confirmed that Lil Tay’s claim of being unable to access her Instagram account was truthful.

Nevertheless, Lil Tay’s family reached out TMZ on Thursday and said the influencer is alive and well. Lil Tay also expressed gratitude towards Meta for their assistance in recovering her Instagram account. Subsequently, the fabricated announcement of her death has been removed and no longer appears on her account.

“My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong,” the statement read.
