Halle Berry isn’t too happy about Drake’s new single cover.
On Friday, the rapper dropped his latest track, representing his inaugural partnership with SZA. However, the single’s artwork prominently showcases a snapshot of Berry being doused in slime during the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
A few days prior, both Drake and SZA shared the single covers on their individual Instagram accounts, hinting at their forthcoming collaboration without explicitly revealing the details regarding the project or its release date.
Shortly after, Berry made an Instagram post featuring a pink square with the message, “Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy… even if you’re a woman!” In the comments section, one user inquired about Berry’s thoughts on Drake using her photo for the single’s artwork.
“Didn’t get my permission,” she wrote. “That’s not cool I thought better of him!” She said, following up that comment with another one, adding, “hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you you have to be the bigger person and move on !”
During his Austin, Texas tour stop on Monday, Drake announced the upcoming single. He expressed his awareness of the anticipation among his fans for the album, scheduled for release on September 22nd. Therefore, he decided to release the single earlier than originally planned to meet their excitement.
“What a time, what a time. I appreciate y’all,” he said. “Deeply, by the way, I do. It’s a lot of love.”
