Two Texas Men Face Charges After Allegedly Stealing 46 Packs of Oxtail and Other Meat From Local Grocery Stores

Two Texas men were recently arrested after allegedly stealing 46 meat packs from four nearby grocery stores in the Cypress area.

On Wednesday, Jacob Trevino and Robert Stevenson were stopped by Harris County constables during a traffic stop on the 29100 block of the Northwest Freeway. The sergeant conducting the stop noticed a significant quantity of unbagged meat packages in the rear seat of their vehicle. According to county officials, the numerous stolen meat packs were estimated to be worth approximately $1,129 and comprised a variety of items, including bags of oxtail, steak, and shrimp.

“Sergeant Amaya with Constable Mark Herman’s Office has two suspects in custody following a traffic stop in the 29300 block of the Northwest Freeway. The males were found to be in possession of multiple fresh meat packages stolen from different local stores. Great work, C4!”  Constable Mark Herman said.

On Thursday morning, Herman made an announcement stating that Trevino and Stevenson had been arrested and processed at the Harris County jail. They were formally charged with theft aggregation, and their bond was established at $2,500.

Under Texas law, theft aggregation occurs when an individual commits two or more thefts. If the total value of the stolen property is less than $2,500, this offense is classified as a misdemeanor.
