Despite experiencing financial setbacks, T.I. is still dedicated to his comedy career.

Earlier this week, the Atlanta rapper took center stage as he hosted the premiere of his new movie, “Da ‘Partments,” in Los Angeles. HipHopDX had the opportunity to engage in a brief conversation with T.I. at the event, where he discussed his larger mission as an industry veteran in the world of entertainment.

“Chase the money, not the women,” he said. “I learned something else — after that, I learned to chase the dream, not the money.”

When questioned about whether he has ever declined financial opportunities that don’t match his goals, he responded, “I do it every time I choose to do comedy instead of go and do music.”

Outside of music and comedy, T.I. and his spouse, Tiny Harris, have officially opened their affordable housing development in Atlanta, Georgia, a project that they’ve worked on for several years. The couple organized a ribbon-cutting event for The Intrada Westside, a development comprising 143 apartments and 25 dedicated units for homeless youth.

“The arts and entertainment industry in this city has been able to collaborate and be, I guess, profitable enough to offer the community so many things that are much-needed,” T.I. said at the time.
T.I. initially unveiled his intentions for the housing community back in 2021, sharing, “Checkin’ on my development here in Bankhead. Right here used to be the old K-Mart … now we got affordable housing … 143 units going up, mixed-use community, you dig? We about 40 percent done. We supposed to be done sometime next year.”
