Jennifer Lopez has had to cancel seven shows from her highly anticipated first North American tour in five years, which was set to support her latest album, “This Is Me…Now,” alongside its two companion films. The cancellations affect concerts scheduled between August 20 and 31 in cities including Cleveland, Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans, and Houston. These updates were made on Ticketmaster, where the Cleveland and Houston dates were notably absent, having been part of the original tour announcement on February 24 but subsequently removed.

A glance at Ticketmaster’s seating charts for the tour shows a significant number of tickets remain available, with the blue areas indicating available seats far outnumbering the grey, marking sold-out sections. This observation suggests a lower-than-expected ticket demand.

As of now, a representative for Lopez has not provided a comment regarding the cancellations. Ticket holders received a notice stating, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. No action is required to obtain a refund.”

These tour date cancellations follow the less-than-stellar performance of Lopez’s album “This Is Me…Now,” her first in ten years, which debuted at number 38 on the Billboard 200. The album, alongside the tour and two films, form a $20 million self-funded multimedia project. This ambitious endeavor seeks to explore Lopez’s personal narrative, especially highlighting her romantic life and her reunion with Ben Affleck, to whom she got married in 2022 after a highly publicized breakup nearly two decades ago following their 2003 movie “Gigli.”

The project includes a musical film titled “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story” and a documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” both of which are meant to underscore the theme of enduring love.

In a recent interview with Variety, Lopez shared, “Everybody thought I was crazy. And by the way, I thought I was crazy.” This project represents a bold move by Lopez to navigate through her professional and personal life under the public’s watchful eye.
