Scandal star, Columbus Short, was arrested yesterday in connection with a bar fight last week that left one man hospital bound with a broken nose.
Short was arrested in Claremont, CA on a warrant that alleges he committed a battery that caused serious bodily harm. According to eye witnesses, Short was attending an engagement party on March 15th when a party goer made an inappropriate comment about his wife. Short then leaped over the father of the bride and sucker punched the partygoer beating him until he “looked dead.”
Short was arrested and released Wednesday on $50,000 bail. If convicted he could face up to 4 years in jail. This isn’t the first time the Scandal actor’s temper has gotten the best of him. Columbus Short was charged February 14 with misdemeanor spousal battery and has pleaded not guilty in that case. A judge ordered him to stay away from his wife, Tuere Short, at a March 5 court hearing. Records show she filed for divorce last year but dismissed her petition earlier this year. FYI, this is his second wife, not the wife that he cheated on with Brittany Spears, that’s Brandi.
Short was also charged with felony battery in June 2010 following an altercation where he punched a man’s teeth out during a basketball game. He plead no contest for a lesser charge of disturbing the peace and was placed on three years of informal probation and not to threaten or use violence on anyone.
