Darren Sharper is going to be sitting in a Los Angeles County Jail cell for at least another week while a New Orleans DA decides whether they are going to charge him with rape.
We previously reported that a warrant was issued for Sharper’s arrest in the drugging and raping of two New Orleans women last September. Sharper turned himself into Los Angeles police, but while sitting in jail more details began to surface, including accounts from witnesses who say Sharper confessed to them that he had non-consensual sex with both women.
Sharper appeared in court yesterday in attempt to get out of jail but the L.A. Superior Court judge concluded she can’t let him because the New Orleans D.A. has 10 full business days to decide whether to charge him. Sharper has been in jail since last week. He has until next Thursday.
Something tells me that New Orleans is gunning for the rape charge and plans to come at Sharper hard. Remember, they are interested in extraditing him so they can make him sit in jail even longer.
