I’m all for prenuptial agreements but some things just don’t make sense. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, who are set to wed in Paris on May 24th, have just purchased a lavish $11million Bel-Air mansion together but rumor has it their prenup is what’s REALLY costly.
According to reports, as part of the couple’s prenuptial agreement Kanye will have to pay Kim Kardashian $1million for every year they are married (capped at $10 million), their new $11million mansion will be in Kim’s name and she gets to keep all gifts Kanye has given her. Kim is also the beneficiary of Kanye’s $20million life insurance policy, even in the event that they get a divorce. Money Kim earns from Keeping Up With The Kardashian‘s, the Kardashian clothing line, and appearances, will be considered her separate and sole income. There is no custody clause for Nori in the prenup as of now.
I wonder how long this marriage will last before Kanye goes broke and/or gets the hell out of dodge!
Kim’s sister Khloe had a similar prenup. Khloe got $500,000 for each year married to Lamar and could petition for spousal support. She also got to keep the couples $4 million Tarzana, Calif., mansion and keep her $1 million engagement ring. The couple were married 4 years, earning Khloe $2 million.
Beyonce’s rumored prenup was a tad similar except she wasn’t being paid to stay married, only paid if it ends. In case you forgot, Beyonce & Jay’s rumored prenup was as follows: Beyonce was to get $5 million for each baby she pops out which was to compensate her for the loss of income during pregnancy and child-rearing years. Beyonce was also to get $10 million if the marriage ends after 2 years and $1 million for each additional year she remains in the marriage, up to 15 years. More incentive for Jay Z to work it out.
