Beyoncé is still basking in the success of “Cowboy Carter,” but the mogul says her mindset about her music is much different today than in previous years.

The album, which was unveiled on March 29th, 2024, serves as Act II of a suspected Bey trilogy that began with Act I, “Renaissance.” Many were a bit taken aback that the Destiny’s Child star was dabbling into the predominately white occupied genre, though as she put it, “This ain’t a Country album. This is a “Beyoncé album.”

“Cowboy Carter”  reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and on the Billboard country chart, making her the first Black woman to achieve such a feat. Bey says while she is thankful for the love her fans have shown “Cowboy Carter,” she is no longer worried about sales.

“There was a time in my life when charts and sales excited and motivated me. Once you have challenged yourself and poured every ounce of your life, your pain, your growth and your dreams into your art, it’s impossible to go backward,” Beyoncé recently told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m very grateful and humbled for the extraordinary success of the new album.”

Following its debut, “Cowboy Carter,” sold an impressive 407,000 equivalent album units, making it the biggest debut of 2024 at that point. The album has spawned singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and “16 Carriages.” It has been speculated that she is preparing a tour or Las Vegas residency to coincide with “Cowboy Carter,” though no official plans have been revealed.
