Mustard Slams Drake in Fiery Twitter Rant, Calls Him “Malcolm X for White People

Producer Mustard didn’t hold back when he went after Drake and DJ Akademiks in a heated Twitter rant on August 2nd.

The producer, known for his work with Kendrick Lamar on the diss track “Not Like Us,” vented his frustration over what he perceived as a deliberate attempt to overshadow his new album, FAITH OF A MUSTARD SEED.

The controversy kicked off when Mustard noticed DJ Akademiks hyping up Drake’s latest songs, “Sideways” and “Healing,” produced by Gordo. Mustard’s project and Gordo’s album, DIAMANTE, dropped on the same day, which seemed too coincidental for the L.A. producer.

In his tweets, Mustard took a shot at Drake, dubbing him the “Malcolm X of white people.” He didn’t stop there; he accused the Toronto rapper of using bots to inflate streaming numbers, comparing the situation to the Nation of Islam by dubbing it “the Nation of drizzlam.”

Mustard didn’t shy away from accusing Akademiks and Drake of racism, calling album sales “a form of white supremacy.” He seemed particularly irked that Gordo’s album outperformed his own, selling 20K units to his 18K.

DJ Mustard “Faith of a Mustard Seed” sells 18k first week.
