Tyrese and his ex wife Norma were reportedly at odds over a custody exchange this week, and the dispute ended with police at Norma’s home in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, officers visited the home on a Tuesday night after Tyrese arrived to pick up the couple’s 6 year old daughter for his scheduled visit. TMZ reported that police spoke with a very upset Tyrese and left, and that Tyrese went home without his daughter. No arrests were reported, and there was no word of any disturbance.
Here is where the two sides differ. Sources close to Tyrese told TMZ that he first tried to pick the girl up at school, then tried repeatedly to reach Norma, and was turned away when he went to the house. Those same sources said Norma told him their daughter was sick, which is why she would not let her go. The custody order, as quoted in court papers obtained by TMZ, gives Tyrese custody every Tuesday.
Tyrese reportedly does not believe his daughter was sick. Sources close to him say he has filed a motion asking a judge to hold Norma in contempt for violating the custody order. TMZ did not report a statement from Norma herself, and a judge had not ruled on the motion at the time of the report.
Custody disputes are rarely simple, and there are two sides to this one. We will see what the court decides.
