McDonald’s fans in the U.S. are finally getting their hands on the highly anticipated Chicken Big Mac. After creating buzz in other countries, the sandwich will be available stateside starting October 10 at select locations for a limited time.
The Chicken Big Mac offers a fresh spin on the classic Big Mac, which has been a menu staple since 1968. This version swaps out the two all-beef patties for tempura-battered chicken patties while keeping the familiar toppings: lettuce, cheese, pickles, and the famous Big Mac sauce.
Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s USA, said the company is excited to bring this twist on a fan favorite to a new audience. “We’re not just serving a sandwich; we’re creating experiences that surprise and delight,” Hassan shared.
In the lead-up to the U.S. launch, McDonald’s teased fans with a pop-up dining experience in Los Angeles under the name “McDonnell’s.” The event featured “The Chicken Sandwich,” a creation that closely resembled the Chicken Big Mac, with two crispy chicken patties, special sauce, and all the signature ingredients on a sesame bun. The one-day-only event had fans buzzing, and in a plot twist, McDonald’s revealed that it was behind the entire operation.
Adding to the excitement, internet star and Big Mac superfan Kai Cenat is teaming up with McDonald’s to help promote the Chicken Big Mac. Kai will host a livestream where he and some famous friends will try the sandwich and share their honest reactions with fans. McDonald’s will be posting updates on its social media throughout October, so fans can tune in and see if Kai and his friends think the Chicken Big Mac lives up to the hype.
The Chicken Big Mac promises the same iconic flavors fans love, but with a twist. Whether it truly qualifies as a Big Mac is up for debate, but one thing’s for sure—this new offering is already creating a lot of excitement. Be sure to grab one when it drops on October 10 at participating locations nationwide
