A former Fulton County detention officer, Karmen Bailey, is now facing multiple charges after investigators revealed she allegedly accepted $17,000 in bribes to smuggle contraband, including pills, into the jail. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the 31-year-old’s arrest on October 4.

Bailey, who remains in custody, faces four counts of violating her oath, two counts of bribery, and two counts of delivering prohibited items to inmates. As of Monday, court records show that she has not retained legal representation.

An arrest affidavit claims Bailey accepted bribes from the family members of Marquavious Huey, one of the six defendants in the YSL RICO case involving hip-hop star Young Thug. Investigators say that on May 6, cellphone records show a $500 payment from Huey’s mother to Bailey via Apple Pay.

Additionally, investigators allege that Bailey escorted Huey and another inmate into a restricted area where the contraband was sold to other inmates. On July 7, Huey’s brother reportedly paid Bailey $1,000. Less than a week later, surveillance footage allegedly showed Bailey leading Huey and an unidentified inmate into another restricted area to deliver two packages, believed to contain drugs and cell phones.

Investigators discovered Bailey was not only working with Huey’s family but also with associates of several other inmates, including 29-year-old Osama Manuel, who is awaiting trial on murder and gang-related charges. Surveillance footage purportedly shows Bailey concealing contraband on a meal tray and delivering it to Manuel’s cell.

This investigation, initiated after two unnamed inmates reported Bailey’s alleged actions, remains ongoing. While authorities have yet to confirm if any inmates’ family members or associates will face charges, officials emphasize the probe is far from over.
