Diddy’s legal team is speaking out after a lawsuit accusing him and Jay-Z of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2000 was voluntarily dismissed.

The lawsuit, originally filed against Diddy in October 2024 and later amended to include Jay-Z in December, was dropped with prejudice on Friday, meaning the case cannot be refiled. Following the dismissal, Diddy’s legal team issued a statement, calling the lawsuit part of a pattern of false and sensationalized claims.

“Today’s complete dismissal without a settlement by the 1-800 attorney is yet another confirmation that these lawsuits are built on falsehoods, not facts,” the statement read. “For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by an attorney more focused on media headlines than legal merit. Just like this claim, the others will fall apart because there is no truth to them.”

Diddy’s lawyers reaffirmed his innocence, stating: “Sean Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor. No number of lawsuits, sensationalized allegations, or media theatrics will change that reality. We will continue to fight these baseless claims and hold those responsible. This is just the first of many that will not hold up in a court of law.”

While Jay-Z was quick to declare victory after the lawsuit was dismissed, Diddy remains entangled in multiple legal battles. He is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, having been denied bail three times. His trial is scheduled for May 5, 2025, where he could face life in prison if convicted.
