A 4-year-old Wisconsin boy was so fed up with his mom eating his ice cream that he called the police.
The humorous incident happened last Tuesday in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, when the boy dialed 911, telling dispatchers that his “mom was being bad” and needed to go to jail, according to a statement from the Village of Mount Pleasant Police Department.

Officers Gardinier and Ostergaard were dispatched to the home after the 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival, they were met with the young boy’s serious complaint.
“He told officers his mom ate his ice cream and needed to go to jail for it,” police said.
However, the boy soon had a change of heart. After some discussion, he decided he no longer wanted his mom to face jail time—he just wanted some ice cream.
The officers left after verifying that the situation was, in fact, just a case of missing dessert. But the next day, they returned to the home with a sweet surprise: a fresh serving of ice cream for the young boy.
The lighthearted encounter was shared on the department’s social media, where commenters found humor in the child’s passionate plea for justice.
“I’m not saying he’s right. All I’m saying is I understand,” one person joked.
“At least he knows how to call for help,” another commented. “It could save someone’s life one day!”
The officers also posed for a photo with the young boy, turning the playful misunderstanding into a positive community moment.
