Porsha Williams recently gave an update about her divorce from Simon Goubadia.
During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live Sunday, the RHOA star revealed that her divorce was about to be finalized until Simon got detained by ICE.
“I am still married,” Porsha admitted to Andy Cohen. “It was about to be over and then unfortunately he had been detained.”

According to Porsha, they were supposed to have their final court date, but Simon requested for it to be in person. She wasn’t feeling that idea and kinda knew something was off. “I didn’t want it to be in person because I kind of knew the climate,” she said. “And unfortunately, he walked into it.”
Now that Simon is in ICE custody, the divorce is basically on hold. Porsha made it clear she’s not holding any grudges, though. “I wish him well. I pray for him and his family and maybe they can figure it out,” she said.
Turns out, Simon’s immigration issues have been a thing since the 1980s. According to court documents obtained by WSB-TV 2, Simon first came to the U.S. in 1982 but was declared deportable in 1985 after overstaying his visa. He returned again in 1986 on a work visa — and overstayed once more.
So technically, Simon’s been in the U.S. illegally for decades and it finally caught up with him.
What really got folks talking was when Andy asked Porsha if she ever Googled him before getting married. Without hesitation, Porsha laughed and said, “No, I didn’t Google him.” Whew!
Now that Simon’s detained, Porsha’s divorce is stuck in limbo and at this point, she’s just ready to be done. “I’m ready to move on,” she said.
