Earlier this week we reported that Miami Dolphin Richie Incognito was suspended indefinitely for aggressively harassing and threatening offensive tackle, Jonathan Martin. It has now been revealed that when Martin walked out on his team last Monday, he checked himself into a South Florida hospital to be treated for emotional distress. The Dolphins organization arranged for Martin’s parents to visit him in South Florida. “He’s a strong man. He’s doing fine,” Martin’s father, Gus, told omg! Insider.
Unfortunately for the Dolphins organization, rumor has it that they may be more responsible than they believe. According to sources, Miami coaches encouraged Incognito to toughen up Jonathan Martin and he obviously went overboard. If this is true, Dolphins coaches may be facing action right along with Incognito. The entire situation is still under investigation, however. Incognito was recently asked about how he is handling his current situation to which he replied, “I’m just trying to weather the storm right now. This will pass.”
