Simon Guobadia, entrepreneur and ex‑husband of reality star Porsha Williams, is now back in his homeland after being released from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. A close friend and business associate, Tai Savet, confirmed to Us Weekly that the Nigeria‑born businessman boarded a flight to Nigeria just a few days ago and arrived on Monday, June 9.

While detained at Georgia’s Stewart Detention Center near Atlanta, Guobadia, 61, had never experienced incarceration before. Still, Savet said he’s in surprisingly good spirits, despite the ordeal.

During his detention in February, Guobadia was swept up in a government operation targeting visa overstays. He originally moved to the United States in 1982, then departed once when his first visa expired. After returning, he overstayed again—and this second violation led to his detainment.

Ever the strategist, Guobadia is already looking ahead. He and his team recently launched a T‑shirt venture designed to raise awareness and support for people still under ICE custody. The line coincides with Guobadia’s own immigration battle—and speaks to his intention to remain politically engaged.
Interestingly, Tai Savet noted that Guobadia bears no ill will toward former President Donald Trump. In fact, he’d welcome a conversation with him about the immigration system and how it’s enforcing mass deportations.
