Diddy’s Team Says “He Ain’t No Monster” — Claps Back At Bail Denial

Lawyers say Sean Combs isn’t a threat and accuse prosecutors of exaggerating charges and distorting the law

Diddy and Luxury Hotels Sued for Alleged Exploitation in $500K Sex Trafficking Lawsuit

Sean “Diddy” Combs isn’t staying silent after being denied bail. His legal team came out swinging with a 6-page court filing slamming the government’s case and insisting Combs should’ve been released immediately.

In the letter submitted to Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs’ attorneys argue that the prosecution has gone overboard with its narrative, painting the music mogul as a criminal mastermind. According to his team, that portrayal simply doesn’t match the jury’s verdict.

The letter highlights that while the jury convicted Combs on two prostitution-related counts, it also cleared him of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges. The defense says those prostitution charges were tied to adult participants and shouldn’t carry heavy consequences, especially since similar cases aren’t prosecuted in places like Manhattan and Los Angeles anymore.

They also pushed back against the idea that the crimes Combs was convicted of should be treated as “crimes of violence,” saying that label doesn’t apply under federal law unless minors are involved — which isn’t the case here.

As for the infamous 2016 video showing Combs attacking Ventura at a hotel, his team argued it’s irrelevant to the legal charges and shouldn’t be used to influence the court’s interpretation of the law. They say the government is using emotional appeals to distract from legal facts.

The filing ended with a strong message: Combs isn’t a flight risk, isn’t a danger to the community, and shouldn’t be held any longer just to satisfy public pressure or overblown claims.
