New Music Friday has arrived right on time, ushering in fresh heat and a welcome relief from the bleak news cycle.
This week kicks off with Tyler The Creator, who surprised fans with a new album titled “Don’t Tap the Glass.” While the project arrived on Monday, it remains a trending topic online thanks to the upbeat tune “Ring Ring Ring.” The ten-track drop includes just three features: Pharrell Williams, Yebba, and Madison McFerrin. In usual Tyler fashion, he blends sharp lyrics across a diverse pack of beats perfect for the remaining summer nights.
Drake isn’t letting up either. He tapped Central Cee for his new release “Which One.” The track incorporates elements of Afrobeats, delivering a fun anthem that’s sure to get hips swaying and the dance floor packed. This appears to be Drake’s second single from his forthcoming album “Iceman,” following early July’s “What Did I Miss.”
Chris Brown also gave his fans something new, bringing along Bryson Tiller for the single “It Depends.” The smooth track borrows elements from Usher’s hit “Nice & Slow.” It’s unclear if Brown is preparing to bless fans with a new album, but if so, “It Depends” is the perfect way to kick things off.
NBA YoungBoy, Paul Wall, 4batz, and more also delivered the vibes, setting the tone for your weekend plans.
