The NYPD says the shooting happened around 3:30 AM at Taste of the City Lounge, just after the venue had closed for the night. The victims include two men, aged 27 and 35, and a third who has not yet been identified. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
“The club had just closed when the shooting started,” police confirmed, adding that at least 36 shell casings were found scattered inside the lounge. Investigators spent hours combing through the shattered glass and blood-stained floors.
So far, no arrests have been made, and the shooters remain at large. However, it appears that a dispute inside the building led to the shooting.
“This is not the norm,” said NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch. “Shootings are at a record low this year, which makes this tragedy all the more devastating.”
The eight injured victims were rushed to local hospitals, though their current conditions have not been disclosed.
The investigation is ongoing.
