After what seems like a life long battle between Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson, the results are in. According to the Superior Court of Arizona Maricopa County, a child support decision has been made.
You may recall that Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson had a short-lived marriage after Glory got pregnant with the couple’s twins. According to Glory, the couple mutually agreed on in vitro fertilization and even agreed on the donor choice. While Brittney confirms that she agreed to in vitro, she says that she is suspicious of Glory Johnson. Brittney believes that Glory was messing around with her ex-boyfriend while they were together and that there is a possibility that the twins were not fathered by the sperm donor they chose. Brittney requested a paternity test. If the test found that the donor was not the father, Brittney wanted to be absolved of all responsibility — including child support.Â
On April 14, Brittney and Glory went to court and it looks like Brittney will indeed be responsible for the twin girls.Â
Brittney will pay $2,665.81 in back child support for the months of October 2015 through April 2016. Beginning on May 1st, she will be responsible for paying Glory $2,516.97 per month.
There’s more! Brittney Griner will also have to pay for one full time live-in nanny, and one part-time nanny for the twins. Because the girls were born premature, they still require round the clock care, and because Glory plans to get back on the basketball court, she’s going to need some help. Â For the 1.5 nannies, it costs about $3,150.00 per month. Brittney will be responsible for $2,835.00 (90%) of that. The cost for child care will be reviewed in 6 months and is likely to decrease as the girls stabilize and get older. In the meantime, Glory Johnson requests $8,505.00 in back childcare, which Brittney has been ordered to pay.
I know Brittney is wondering if this was all worth it. These payments have got to hurt!Â
