NCAA Drama: Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel suspended for Half of Season Opener

Texas A&M Quarterback Johnny Manziel is suspended for the first half of A&M’s season opener against Rice. The NCAA states that they have found Manziel not guilty of Pay-For-Sign (selling autographs). The investigators from the NCAA met with Manziel for six hours Sunday to discuss the investigation. Manziel reassured the NCAA that he did not make a profit and the NCAA were unable to find any evidence that proves otherwise.

The NCAA put pressure on Texas A&M to suspend Manziel and this was A&M’s decision. Personally, I do not see how a superstar College Athelete like “Johnny Football” signed over 4,000 items for FREE. What’s funny about this suspension is that this may be a blow-out game the first half, and playing Johnny Manziel would not matter because A&M can easily beat Rice.

The NCAA can put pressure on an university to suspend their own players quicker than the NCAA can decide on what to do in most of these investigations. How ironic is it that this accelerated decision comes days before Texas A&M’s college football season? It is not! The NCAA can make a expedited decisions on most of these investigations but only when they decide too.
