Lil Scrappy was arrested early Wednesday morning after a fight at an Atlanta gas station, according to TMZ.
The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star was with his girlfriend Bambi, who also appears on the show, when a man named Kenny approached them around 2:30 a.m. Police were reportedly called about a brawl at 2:33 a.m. Scrappy says Kenny was the aggressor. In his words, “He was calling my girlfriend names and then put his hands on me,” and he responded in self defense.
TMZ reports that an off duty Atlanta police officer at the station broke up the fight. When on duty officers arrived, both men were arrested on a disorderly conduct charge and taken to a nearby police station. Scrappy was reportedly cooperative and was released a short time later.
His attorney, Mawuli Mel Davis, says there is video showing Scrappy acted in self defense, and Scrappy plans to cooperate with law enforcement. We did not see a public response from Kenny.
Scrappy has been busy getting ready for the next season of his reality show, so this is one headline he surely did not want. We will update this story if more details come out.
