Following episode six of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta I got the opportunity to speak with everyone’s favorite Georgia Peach, Rasheeda. In the interview we discussed the episode where we finally get to dive deep into Rasheeda’s relationship with her husband and manager Kirk. We also talk about why she met with Deb Atney, what her current label situation is and her thoughts on the highly anticipated “Marry Me” music video.
Again, I’ve transcribed just a couple points. You have to listen to the whole thing if you want a full scope of the interview.

On The Struggles Of Having A Hubbyger (Husband/Manager)
“We go through things that a lot of artists go through with management. It might just be on steroids because we’re married. Basically, you know, we don’t always see eye to eye. That’s just a normal situation that you go through. The better part about it is really being able to try and hash it out on a different kind of level than just having a business relationship. Sometimes I don’t agree with certain things and he doesn’t agree with certain things and the hardest part about it is not taking it personal and it not going to the bedroom and it not affecting your marriage. Those are some of the things that are harder to deal with but over time we learned to communicate with each other & we learned to shut things down so that it doesn’t spill over.”
On Her Visit With Deb Atney & What She Was Hoping To Achieve
“We had crossed paths a couple times and she would say come see me, come holla at me. When I felt that it was that time I went and talked to her, just about possible management, co-management, it wasn’t just one specific thing. We were going to talk about different things. She had questions she wanted to ask me career-wise and see if she could be a part of what was going on with Rasheeda. I was trying to talk to her and see if she would fit what was going on with Rasheeda.”
On Not Agreeing With Deb’s Assessment Of DLo Music (Kirk’s label)
“She mentioned DLo this, DLo that, but what people gotta understand too is that regardless of what anyone has to say about Rasheeda, this is how I live and I’m blessed. People have to understand that for where I am with my career, which is very clear I’m not a main stream artist, but I’m a successful underground artist who is able to pay their bills and do what I have to do and I have a very strong fan base that continues to grow. So, besides the fact that she is saying ‘look at this label and look at this common denominator‘, she’s looking at it through her opinion. What she has to come and realize is that we wouldn’t even be sitting down having a meeting if she didn’t feel as though I had what it takes. Don’t forget DLo has brought me to where I am.”

On Whether The “Marry Me” Video Met Her Expectations
“I would say [it met my expectations] about 80%. My concept for the video was supposed to be like a female Hangover. Me and my girls are out kicking it the night before I get married. I kind of wanted the story to fall into place a little bit better but for the most part people got it. But you know, I was just looking for a little more.”

Rasheeda Explains ImBossy.com
“ImBossy.com is my online store. I have accessories – all the cute, trendy, hot, fly, unique pieces. I have ear rings, bracelets, necklaces and body jewelry. I also have t-shirts and all the t-shirts are slogans from my music. All the lines on them would be like ‘I’m the main chick never the mistress‘ or ‘I’m the type of girl you wanna take to your momma’s house‘. You can also buy physical copies of my music off the website as well.”
