Cincinnati Bengals receiver Jerome Simpson’s home in Northern Kentucky was searched by police after a package of marijuana was delivered there.
According to authorities, the package, shipped from California, contained about 2.5 pounds of high grade marijuana. Police say a friend signed for it during a controlled delivery set up by investigators. During a search of the home, police say they found about six more pounds of marijuana, along with empty parcels, scales and packaging materials.
No arrests have been made, and no one has been charged. No one has publicly claimed the package.
Simpson has not commented.
Whoever the package belonged to, having it delivered to an NFL player’s house was a bad idea. This is the kind of investigation that can follow a player for a long time.
