Madame Tussauds New York has become the latest victim of the beyhive’s wrath after releasing a photo of their brand-new Beyoncé wax figure.
Earlier this week, the wax museum tweeted a photo of their brand-new figure, featuring the singer’s signature blonde hair and sparkly one piece. However, fans were not pleased with the display, as the figure was not as bootylicious or brown as Queen Bey. Instead, fans likened the figure to artists such as Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan.
Amid the backlash, the museum said that its “talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately color match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted, adding that the “lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the color of our wax figures, which is something our sculptors are unable to account for at the production stage.”
As a result, the museum pulled the figure from the floor to make some minor adjustments. The next day, the figure was back on the floor after sculptors “adjusted the styling and lighting of her figure.”
“We love, respect and enjoy a working relationship with Beyoncé,” the museum said in a statement obtained by TheWrap. “We have adjusted the styling and lighting of the figure and she is on display at Madame Tussauds New York.”
