On Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys were plagued with a few minor setbacks as the team attempted to recover from the weeklong controversy surrounding Lucky Whitehead’s firing. For the second year in a row, the team lost a quarterback in the first week of training camp after the projected third-string quarterback Zak Dysert injured his back.
In addition to Dysert, the team’s defensive end David Irving suffered an unusual injury on Wednesday, after his nipple ring was ripped out of its piercing. Following the practice, the baller took to Twitter to announce his injury, revealing he had lost his nipple ring during practice.
“It hurt so bad I just had to let the world know,” Irving said after practice. “But (the nipple) didn’t completely tear through. It must have been loose and yanked the side out. Thank God it was loose.”
“I guess I gross some people out,” Irving said of the piercing. “Pretty funny to see people’s reaction. I have no shame.”
When asked why he has the piercing in the first place, Irving said, “The girls love it. That’s why I got it.”
Although the injury will not affect Irving’s ability to play, the baller is still scheduled to serve a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Irving is not alone. He joins linebacker Damien Wilson, who was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Randy Gregory who is on a year-long suspension for substance abuse violations and Ezekiel Elliott who may still get suspended for his off-field drama.
