Charlamagne Tha God is planning to sue Rolling Stone, if they don’t apologize for wrongfully accusing him of making transphobic comments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Charlamagne drafted a legal letter to the magazine claiming that their July 31 article on Rollingstone.com, titled “Janet Mock on Charlamagne tha God’s Transphobic Comments,” is an example of defamation of character since he did not make such comments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Since seeing the letter, Rolling Stone has changed the headline to “Janet Mock Speaks Out Following Charlamagne tha God’s Controversial Morning Show.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Despite them making the edits, Charlamagne is still upset about the incident. The morning show host is demanding an apology, full retraction and money for the damage the article has done to his reputation.
Last week, comedian Lil Duval went on The Breakfast Club and caused a big uproar. The comedian stated that if he unknowingly slept with a transgender woman, he would probably kill her. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
During the interview, Charlamagne did remind Duval that if he did that it would be a hate crime. Charlamagne says Rolling Stone misconstrued his words and used it to write a negative story about him.
