Los Angeles police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting of Memphis rapper Young Dolph.
Dolph was shot Tuesday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. in the valet area of the Loews Hotel in Hollywood, near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. An LAPD spokeswoman said an argument between Dolph and a group of men turned into a physical fight, Dolph fell to the ground, and one of the men pulled out a gun and started shooting. She said Dolph was hit but was able to get up and run into a nearby business. He was taken to a hospital, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
Police say a man named Corey, 43, was arrested shortly after the shooting and booked on suspicion of attempted murder. It remains unclear whether he is the person who fired the shots. He is being held on $1 million bail, and he has not been convicted of anything. Officials say they are still looking for two other men connected to the incident.
Reports have described the arrested man as an associate of Yo Gotti. Earlier reports claimed Gotti was a person of interest, but the LAPD spokeswoman said that was not accurate.
According to reports, this is the second time this year Dolph has been shot at.
