Tyrese Sparks a One-Sided Feud With The Rock Over His “Fast & Furious” Spin-Off: “It appears that he’s being selfish”

Last week, it was revealed that the new installment of “Fast & Furious” franchise would be hitting theaters in 2020. While many Fast fans reveled at the news of a new Fast film, Tyrese used the moment to blame Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for tearing apart the #FastFamily. Apparently, Johnson accepted a spinoff film that would be premiering one year before the Fast film, ultimately pushing back the “Fast & Furious” release.

Although Johnson never responded to Tyrese directly, he confirmed his spinoff in an Instagram post, highlighting a July 2019 date.

“Daddy’s gotta go back to work ~ Hobbs. Pumped to expand and build out the FAST & FURIOUS universe in a cool, exciting way with our @sevenbucksprod, writer/producer Chris Morgan, producer Hiram Garcia and lead producer and my bigger twin, Neil Moritz. Thank you UNIVERSAL STUDIOS for being tremendous partners who see the big picture and for coming to us years ago with this spinoff idea,” Johnson wrote, adding that it will be a great opportunity for everyone.

Tyrese then posted an old video of the actor dissing his 2015 album, “Black Rose.” While, it appears the video occurred when the two were on good terms, Tyrese used it to further prove his point about his co-star. However, after all of the drama and no direct response from Johnson, Tyrese claims there is no bad blood between the two.

“I don’t know what they’re doing,” Tyrese told TMZ when asked about Johnson’s spin-off. “Everybody coming at me like I’m hating on Dwayne about his spinoff, I’m not. The truth is I just wish he was releasing it at a different time.”

“It’s not a conflict, it’s just… Fate of the Furious is like a holiday. The Fast and the Furious family, the fans, the tribe, the people that been rocking with us for 16 years. Pushing our release date back, it’s only happened one-time in the history of The ‘Fast and the Furious’ when we lost our brother Paul Walker,” he said, questioning the reason behind the push back. He added, “it appears that [The Rock] is being selfish, it appears that he’s so focused on furthering his own self-interest.”

“It’s f*cked up,” he said.
