The dispute between Ray Allen and the man who accused him in a so called catfish situation took another turn as court filings surfaced, and Allen’s camp is pushing back hard.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, a man named Bryant filed for a temporary restraining order against Allen earlier this month. In the filing, Bryant claimed he was a victim of stalking and said he believes Allen wants to harm him. He also claimed the two had a three year relationship, and that when it ended Allen called him to make sure he went away and stayed quiet. Bryant further alleged that Allen had been monitoring him and his friends, that a man approached him in a supermarket and told him to watch his back, and that he received a threatening phone call. These are Bryant’s allegations, and they have not been proven.
Allen has said the opposite, claiming Bryant posed as several different women online. Allen’s attorney, David Markus, responded that the restraining order petition was full of falsehoods, that Allen has never met Bryant, has never spoken with him directly and has never threatened him in any way. Markus said Allen wants nothing to do with Bryant and is exploring legal options to stop what he described as harassment of Allen, his family and his friends.
Both sides are standing by their accounts, and the matter remains in the courts.
