After the previous acquittals of the three other Baltimore Police officers charged in the death of #FreddieGray, prosecutors have dropped the charges of all remaining officers in the case.

Officers Edward Nero, Ceaser Goodson, and Lt. Brian Rice were consecutively acquitted of their respective charges in May, June, and July. While Officer William Porter’s trial e des with a hung jury prior to his acquittal.

According to the presiding circuit judge, Barry G. Williams, prosecutors in the case had failed to present substantial evidence, supporting that the officers had acted irresponsibly, and defied training and protocol by not securing Gray in a seatbelt.

The attorneys of all of the officers previously stated that the officers in the case acted in a professional manner.

Gray’s death, which was deemed a homicide by a medical examiner in the case, occurred in April of 2015 when he suffered severe spinal cord injuries after being detained in the back of a Baltimore Police van.
