Keshia Knight Pulliam and former NFL linebacker Ed Hartwell are headed for a split less than a year after their wedding. The couple got engaged last New Year’s Eve and announced soon after that they had married. Just over a week ago, Keshia announced she is expecting the couple’s first child, a girl. Days later, TMZ reported that Ed filed for divorce and asked for a paternity test.
Keshia told TMZ she is sure Ed is the father, that she has been faithful, and that she has nothing to hide, adding that she was blindsided by the filing. According to a TMZ source, she believes the couple should work through their problems instead of divorcing.
PEOPLE reports there is more going on than the paternity request. A source told the magazine that the couple has struggled to agree on major decisions and that Ed holds old fashioned views about marriage. Ed has not publicly addressed the PEOPLE report, and these accounts come from unnamed sources.
