On Tuesday, Kanye West dominated headlines with his thought-provoking interview with Charlamagne Tha God and his intrusion on “TMZ LIVE” to further promote free-thinking. While many appreciated the authenticity of the previously recorded interview, where West explained the reasoning behind most of his actions, the rest were left torn and confused by West’s outburst at the media outlet.
Just after West’s sit-down interview went viral, the Chicago-bred rapper popped up at “TMZ LIVE” to present and discuss new ideas. Amid the discussion, West claimed slavery was a choice and revealed his opioid addiction stemmed from a previous liposuction surgery. Although he clarified his slavery statement on Twitter, saying, “the reason why I brought up the 400 years point is because we can’t be mentally imprisoned for another 400 years. We need free thought now. Even the statement was an example of free thought … it was just an idea,” he still received widespread backlash for the reckless claim.

However, there may be an explanation for all of it.

According to TMZ, West has been off his medication and people close to him tell the publication that may be the reason he blurted out those comments on “TMZ LIVE.” In fact, during the outburst, West revealed he was prescribed seven pills after leaving the hospital, which he claims to be the reason for his previous Twitter rant. “I was drugged the f*ck out,” he said.

But now, in an attempt to gain control of his mental, he’s passing up on his meds. “And I’m not drugged out. These pills that they want me to take three of a day, I take one a week, maybe, two a week,” he revealed. “Y’all had me scared of myself, of my vision. So I took some pills so I wouldn’t go to the hospital and prove everyone right.”

However, sources tell TMZ that the drugs are a hit or miss. Apparently, doctors haven’t been able to determine what works for Kanye and what doesn’t, which has led Kanye to try to figure it out himself by self-regulating.
