Former NBA player Chris Bosh is facing a lawsuit from his mother, Freida, over a home in DeSoto, Texas, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
In her suit, Freida says that in 2005 she signed paperwork at her son’s request that she understood to be tied to a divorce and to her interest in the property. She claims the documents actually transferred sole ownership of the house to Chris, even though she says he promised she could live there for the rest of her life. She says she only learned about the transfer when a lawyer for Chris contacted her in August 2017.
Freida is asking the court to void the transfer, award her the home and grant unspecified damages. Chris has asked the court to dismiss the case. We had not seen a public statement from him on her claims at the time of publishing, and the case was ongoing.
The dispute is not new. In a 2017 interview with TMZ, Freida said she and her son built the home together and that he was trying to evict her. According to Complex, a Texas judge first sided with Chris on the eviction in October 2017, but Freida appealed and was allowed to stay because the eviction notice did not meet certain Texas property code requirements.
Everything above comes from claims made in a civil lawsuit, and a court has not ruled on them.
