On Friday, #PushaT released his third studio album, “Daytona,” which featured an old image of #WhitneyHouston’s drug-ridden bathroom as the cover art. Just ahead of the album’s release, Pusha told #AngieMartinez that #KanyeWest, who produced the entire album, changed the artwork at the last minute to the controversial $85,000 photo.

Although the photo, which was taken in Houston’s Atlanta home back in 2006 after an alleged drug binge, served to represent a bigger message, relatives of the late legend say it was completely out of line.

According to the Blast, Houston’s family says they are “disgusted” with West’s use of the image. In fact, the publication spoke with the singer’s cousin, who said “Let Kanye know that I am disgusted by the fact that y’all think it’s ok to license a photo of my late cousin’s hotel bathroom to spark horrible memories from the most tragic event my family had to face.”

“To do something for a publicity stunt to sell records, it’s absolutely disgusting,” Elliott continued in a statement to People. “It hurt my family my daughter. It’s petty. It’s tacky. I immediately got sick to my stomach because it took me right back to six years ago.”

“I’ve watched the train wreck happening, but I didn’t think [West would] go this far in invading someone’s family privacy,” he said. “What were you thinking? Did you think this through? And if you did, why did you do this?”

On the other hand though, Houston’s nephew Gary Michael expressed his support of the G.O.O.D Music duo. The 31-year-old son of Houston’s older brother said Saturday that the family should direct their anger to the person who actually snapped the photo.

“The person who violated the trust of my aunt by taking the photo and selling it to tabloids for their own personal and/or financial gain is more of a travesty to me,” Michael told GMA.
